The Lexington Fertility Center

Pregnancy after vasectomy

Men who have had a sterilization vasectomy have obstructive azoospermia.  Certainly this can be treated at the Lexington Fertility Center (LFC). For this reason, LFC can perform an office based procedure to collect semen.  Fortunately, sterilized men can have this non invasive procedure to collect sperm.  Furthermore, this can help men with both obstructive and non-obstructive azoospermia.  Most noteworthy, Percutaneous Testicular Sperm Aspirations  (PTSA) and Percutaneous Epidydimal Sperm Aspirations (PESA) can be performed.  PTSA or PESA can be performed as an alternative to a vasectomy reversal.  The physician inserts a sterile needle into the testes or epididymis.  Sperm or spermatids can be aspirated into a syringe and as a result will be evaluated by our andrologist.   IV sedation can be utilized during these procedures. Collected sperm can then be used to proceed with In vitro fertilization.
